The money, the goals, the fairness, your data. If something's missing, it's on us — ping support and we'll add it here.

Getting started

Yes. The app is a free download on iOS. You only ever pay the flat $0.99 fee when you choose to join a real-money challenge.

An iPhone with Apple Health and 30 seconds. We read your step history to set a fair goal, then you create or join a challenge. Android isn't supported yet.

Absolutely. Run a free practice goal to see how the ring and leaderboard work before you stake anything real — paid challenges start at a $10 entry.

Money & payouts

No. Gambling turns on chance — Alex turns on you. You compete against your own step goal, set from your own 30-day history, and you're always in control of the outcome: hit it and you keep your money, plus a share from anyone who didn't show up. The only way to lose is to skip your walks. It's a commitment device to keep you moving — not a game of chance. There's no house, no odds, and you're never betting against another person. We keep entries modest ($10–$50) on purpose.

A flat $0.99 platform fee each time you join a challenge — that's Alex's only cut. (Standard card-processing fees apply at checkout, as with any online purchase.) We never take a slice of the prize pot, run ads, or sell data. 100% of every entry goes back to the winners.

Your entry stays in the pot and is split among the players who hit their goals. Show up and you're paid; skip your walks and you're funding the people who didn't.

Then everyone wins. In a 4-person $10 challenge where all four finish, each person gets their $10 back — the pot simply splits evenly among all finishers. There's no single loser required.

Winnings land in your in-app wallet the moment a challenge closes, and your full payout history is always visible in the app. During the founding beta, cashing out to your bank is handled on request — just message support and we'll process it. A self-serve withdrawal flow is on the way as we scale up.

Goals & fairness

From your last 30 days of steps on Apple Health. We take your real average and suggest a target around it — so the goal fits the walker you actually are, not a flat 10,000 for everyone.

That's exactly what Alex fixes. Everyone competes against their own history, not each other's bodies. A 5K-a-day walker and a 15K-a-day runner can be in the same challenge and both win.

Yes — as you walk more, your 30-day average rises and your suggested goal rises with it. You're always chasing your best self, never a frozen number.

Privacy & devices

Only your step count from Apple Health. We never read your location, contacts, or other health metrics, and we never sell your data to anyone.

The founding cohort is iOS-only while we get the mechanic right. Android is on the roadmap — join the waitlist and you'll be first to hear.
